As I write this I feel choked up. Barbara or Chanda as we sometimes called her was a ray of sunshine in my life. We started as neighbours but grew like sisters. She was an auntie to my children and a big sister to me and my husband. She bought people together, laughed and loved. She has left a hole that can’t be filled. It is hard to believe that we saw Barbara just eight weeks ago today when she joined us at Doug’s funeral. She was her usual beautiful sparkling self, with that smile that could light up any room.

It’s not often in life that you get to meet that person, who’s full of love, compassion & kindness. That was Barbara, only met this beautiful lady a few times but that was enough. I saw how happy her and Julian were, soulmates I think is the right phrase. I have known Julian all his life, so much so he calls me Auntie, first time I met Barbara she called me the same took me to one side and asked me if that was okay, can’t tell you how touched I felt.
