TRIBUTES
In loving memory of handsome George who was taken far too soon after a brave fight against a cruel illness. Thinking of Philippa, Jemima and his family at this very sad time,
With love from Wendy, Patrick and the family xxx
George was actually quite a big event in my childhood when he dated my sister Charlotte. He was incredibly charismatic. I was 11,12 at the time. I’d always ask him when he came round if he’d got a hundred, I think he finally got one in about 93. He would park at the front of the house in a little blue car with his cricket coffin in the boot. Stories ? There are a few from our playing in the back garden or darts in the garage. There was a long standing thing with the neighbor we had in rockland. He was really scary and when the ball went over the fence it was a disaster. We called him grumpy dog. Anyway one legendary time me, Charlotte and George decided on a coordinated routine to retrieve the ball – I would ring the doorbell, Charlotte would give George a signal that grumpy dog was coming to the door and George would then run into the garden to get the ball back. He a fabulous batsmen – played like atherton and hick. Anyway, I am very sorry to hear this and like many others I remember a real star…Ben

I hadn’t been in touch with George for years, but spent alot of time with him and family in the mid 90’s when we were at school. We had such a laugh. George’s sense of humour, talent and fun loving, kind nature captivated everyone around him. The world has lost a great soul xxx much love xxx
