FUNERAL SERVICE & RECEPTION
The funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday 1st December at Greenacres Heatherley Wood
Helen’s wish was for a natural burial, so we have chosen the beautiful, restful location of Heatherley Wood.
A service will take place first in their ceremonial hall, before we all walk through the woodland to the graveside.
Please note: Either wear or bring along suitable footwear for walking in the woodland, in particular if there has been recent rain, bring your wellies!
We will then return to the ceremonial hall for a reception in a style Helen would love. Family and friends bringing along food and a spiritual informality where we can all share more memories and celebrate all that she brought to us in life.
Directions for those who are attending are provided below.
Please do click the RSVP below (it includes a question re food to bring)

She Is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

Helen
From early teens we huddled and laughed and cried, shared hopes and dreams as we crossed paths of discovery on life’s journeys to greater understanding and wisdom, and being Jewish.
Helen, you had such a wonderful, fun loving, singing, dancing side, infectious laughter and a unique and unforgettable strong voice. Also that sad and deep longing in the quest for peace of mind and healing and knowledge of what it means to be alive.
I especially remember many hours in the enveloping warmth of your family home as we negotiated the ups and downs of teenage years, and much later, your incredible way of being with our grandchildren when they were small, and meeting your beautiful daughter. We had so many happy and deep, and sometimes dark conversations when we re-connected over the years, to find that we continued to share so many interests and passions in our lives, from Craniosacral Therapy and alternative Nutrition to Ancestral Healing.
Dearest Helen, my oldest friend, you’ll be forever in my heart and mind, and Mike’s too, and we will miss you more than words can say.
