Josh was a truly lovely young man and it was my absolute pleasure and honour to play a small part in his musical education. This is such a devastating loss of a precious life when Josh meant so much to so many. May you now be at peace Josh and may your family and friends find the strength to be sustained by happy memories of you. Thank you for enriching our lives.

ForJosh’s family .When our workplace fell quiet, our thoughts filled the silence. When our hearts felt heavy, we knew yours were breaking. To carry your burden of grief was our aim; but instead we were helpless. They grey working days they come and go, but Josh’s laughter and presence will never leave us . Reflections, in time will replace the sorrow with happy memories. Josh will never be forgotten by all his friends and work colleagues at Woking delivery office 🎼

Many happy memories of the boys all rushing around together, playing with Lego and football in the garden. Our thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.

Josh comes in to my life when he is 15 years old. He contacts me to join the fight gym I’m building. He is extremely excited, and pledges to come and train every day. True to his word, he shows up each day and helps to build the gym with his own hands. He involves his parents – Peter comes to help us assemble the octagon, and Carole joins as a member in support of her son.
Josh is the most helpful person anyone could be lucky enough to meet. Nothing is too much trouble. His energy is infectious, and he is embraced by everyone that surrounds him in the gym. He shows enormous talent in his grappling and striking, and is quickly recognised as one of the best martial artists in the group. His head coach, Steve Obe, often asks him to run demonstrations, and to help novices during class.
In 2011, young yet accomplished, Josh bravely makes his first forays in to the ring at local fight shows, putting his strength to the test, tasting victory and defeat, toughening up through ferocious battles that most people will never encounter. Showcasing exceptional skill with a humble nature, Josh is loved by all in the community, and wins the approval of many professional fighters, who encourage him to join them in training. Josh is in his element, and brings so much positive energy and laughter to the gym, for many years.
In 2015, the student becomes the master and Josh begins to coach the contract classes we have arranged at Surrey Sports Park. Sometimes there are more than 80 in the class, all touched by Josh’s persona and artistry.
Josh, your brothers in combat are in deep mourning. I can still sense your kick in my chest, your vicious left hook, the bloody noses and the blurry vision. It’s a fierce bond that only fighters share, and I wish to heaven that I could have one more round with you and feel it all again.

To a friend I never got to meet. We met as oddly as anyone could have through the silly YouTube videos you used to make. After a while we became pen pals, shared our art interests with each other, I could tell you were a man who had goals loves beliefs. I didn’t know you were going to be gone so soon. It’s sad that I’ll never get to meet you in person, hear you play piano again or share more about each other’s lives. RIP Josh. A young man taken away too early
