FUNERAL SERVICE
The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday 19th September at Pembroke Lodge, Richmond Park
Pembroke Lodge is set within the stunning Richmond Park in South West London. The Belvedere is a private room on the ground floor of the Georgian Wing, with an open terrace and panoramic views. Both the service and reception will be held here.
The service will also be webcast live for those unable to attend in person – details are shared below.
Directions are provided below including public transport links (a mode of transport preferred by John). If coming by car, there is ample parking and it is also easy to catch a taxi from Richmond Station.
Regarding the dress code, as you will know John was a shorts & t-shirt man – only adding a waistcoat for formal occasions! So please, no suits or black attire – just come as you are, or better still wear something that reminds you of John, however colourful, flamboyant, outrageous or political. Both John and Tim [his partner] hated formality and dour occasions. John would want this to be a joyous and maybe riotous celebration of his life.

Directions:
Pembroke Lodge is inside Richmond Park, close to the Richmond gate entrance. There is plenty of free parking.
The Belvedere is on the ground floor of the Georgian Wing. It has a separate entrance accessed from the right hand side of the building, however you can also enter through the main entrance and then turn right.
Public transport: SW trains go to Richmond and Kingston Stations – and Richmond is also served by the District Line. From either station you can take the 371 bus to Richmond Hill / Richmond Gate, from where it is a 10 minute walk to Pembroke Lodge (on the right hand side as you head towards Kingston). The 65 bus is another option, however it is a longer walk to Pembroke Lodge from either The Dysart or Nightingale Lane bus stops.
Taxi: It is a 10 minute drive from Richmond station to Richmond Park – just ask to be dropped off at Pembroke Lodge.
Toilets: Are signposted and situated between the café and The Belvedere.
Step free access: Please note that there are steps leading down to the side entrance into The Belvedere, step free access is available via the main entrance and turn right to continue into The Belvedere.
Exiting the park: The Park is closed to traffic at dusk (approx from 6pm) so entry and exit thereafter is via Richmond Gate only, which is manned by Pembroke Lodge staff. Due to the deer and other wildlife, please take extreme care whilst driving in the park.
